Blueberry Crisp… it’s not just a dessert
Although it IS a great dessert, it’s ALSO the name of this gorgeous Designer Series Paper.
For Stamp Club this month I wanted to make something that wasn’t red & green. This would make a terrific gift item for a family member or a friend. Just make, fill with photos and give!
This card can be made with any size card stock if you scale appropriately. There are 2 main pieces:
- Folder: 6 x 12”, scored in center to make binding
- Fold-Out Album: 5 x 5” (or any square)
To create the Fold-Out:
1. Begin by scoring in half to make a “+”.
2. Cut one of the score lines from the edge to the center point.
3. Fold all pieces together to make a 5 x 5” square and attach in folder.
The colors here are Pacific Point, Not Quite Navy and Sahara Sand with Very Vanilla. The stamp set is one of my favorites: Friends 24-7. It’s also available as a Digital Download for My Digital Studio!

A Vintage Christmas: Crochet Trim & Buttons
Last night at Stamp Club we created a Vintage Christmas Card using a great Christmas Tree Template idea.
The Christmas tree is created from a 1/2 circle of Designer Series Paper (Deck the Halls here). The circle I used is 5 1/4″ (check out my Circle Cutter Video Tutorial for help cutting). Thanks to Linda Yearsley from our LovenStampfuls Demonstrator Group for her Christmas card using this tree technique! And thanks to Connie Babbert for putting the directions in writing.
½ Circle Christmas Tree Directions
This little tree can be made from any size circle. For a ¼ sheet card front, the circle should be about 5 ¼”
Begin by cutting your circle in half. Then fold at an angle to form the base of the tree, along about 2/3 of the side of the circle. Fold back and forth (W fold, M fold, W fold, etc.) to form the tree layers.
One more tip… don’t stress if your tree looks a little bit different. You can make them skinnier or wider, or have only 4 folds or 6 folds — play around and see what you like best.
The other supplies for this card:
- Home for Christmas Stamp Set
- Top Note Big Shot Die & Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder
- Victoria Crochet Trim & Striped Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon
- Modern Label Punch and Eyelet Border Punch
Colors: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla

Scallop Circle Scored Flowers: page 123
So strange, but in the past week I’ve had a really high number of questions from people wanting to know how to make those gorgeous Scalloped Flowers that are on page 123 in the Stampin’ Up! catalog that came out on July 1st. (click here to download the pdf version of the catty)
I figured with that many questions, I’d better 1) figure out how to make them, and 2) get a tutorial together!
After some playing around, I was finally able to duplicate the blossoms pictured in the catalog. I also came up with a fun card sample that features the new Newsprint Designer Series Paper (117166) and the new Antique Brads (117273). We’ll be making this card at Stamp Club with Meg this month–if you’re in central Illinois and want to join us on the evening of August 11th or August 12th, let me know!
Scallop Circle Scored Flower Tutorial: (here goes!)
Step 1: Punch two of the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circles (or another scallop circle, from the Big Shot Scallop Circle Dies or the smaller Scallop Circle Punch).
Step 2: Score both Scallop Circle pieces across the center between every scallop pair. The finished scoring looks like a big asterisk (*).
Step 3: Use scissors to cut one of the score lines from the edge of the card stock to the center.
Step 4: Beginning at the cut line, fold back and forth on each score line in a zig-zag pattern. Continue all the way around the scallop circle piece.
Step 5: When both scallop circles are cut and folded, arrange them so that the folds on one half end facing up and the other half end facing down, as shown.
Step 6: Add adhesive to one of the last folded ends and hook the two flower halves together.
Step 7: Add an Antique Brad to the center of the flower (or other embellishment).
Then add to a card and decorate as desired! Thanks to Stampin’ Up! artists for putting this fun flower in the catalog!
