Triple Treat Flower: An Unusual Shaker Frame Card

Okay, I have been WAITING to share this card with you for weeks!  Back at the end of September I went on a Demonstrator Retreat for a weekend and spent time stamping and creating and having fun.  Sound like something you’d enjoy?  You can still join my demonstrator family with the current FREE Big Shot special!).

While at the Retreat, I played with my new Shaker Frames (see them online), and the Triple Treat Flower Stamp (see it online).  Yesterday I shared a basic Shaker Card with you… today’s card is a bit more advanced! The supplies are from the Timeless Portrait Product Suite (pages 78-79 in the Stampin’ Up! catalog  — click here to download or click here to browse the suite online). The glitter inside is the Champagne Glass Glitter (check out some other projects with this fab glitter).

Can you tell it’s a Shaker Card??  Here’s a shot of the card from the side so you can see the glitter.

The stamp is one of my favorites… I’m just telling you, in case you haven’t seen it just about every other day on my blog for the past 2 weeks.

The Triple Treat Flower stamp is also featured in my Stamps in the Mail Club this round, which runs November through January.  If you haven’t checked out Stamps in the Mail Club, be sure to click for details.  In short, this is a chance to have ready-to-stamp card ideas and supplies delivered to your doorstep, complete with exclusive Video Tutorials and printed instructions.

For this card, the directions are similar to yesterday’s Shaker Card, but instead of using a single circle Shaker Frame, I used one for each petal.  Here’s a quick how-to photo, since a picture’s worth a thousand words.

Check out the Shaker Frames in the background–you can see where I used a Hobby Knife to cut the small circle so it would fit the petal of the Fancy Flower Punch that is a perfect match for the Triple Treat Flower.

Just cut 5 partial frames, and stick them to your punched flower & Window Sheet (you’ll have to cut the window sheet by hand–it doesn’t punch).

Oh, and this is a Top Note flap card… I packed a lot into this one, didn’t I? Here are the directions I posted for those, although I have a Video Tutorial that should be ready to post soon.  I promised!  The stamp set used inside is Elements of Style (see it online).

Whew.  Looking for more ideas?  I’ve been infatuated with the Timeless Portrait Product Suite lately, so here are a few projects made with those supplies.

Triple Treat Top Note Triple Fold Card

Try saying that title 5 times fast!  This card features the Forever Young stamp set (see it online) and my new favorite Triple Treat Flower stamp (see it online).  The colors are from the Timeless Portrait Product Suite (check out some other project ideas).

Coolest thing about this card?  I’m loving the Triple Treat Flower!  The stamp is designed to match several Stampin’ Up! punches, like the 5-Petal Flower Punch and the Fancy Flower Punch that I used here.  The Basic Black layer is actually on top of the River Rock layer, with a hole punched in the center to make it like a frame.  We won’t make this exact card, but this IS one of the techniques that you’ll get to try at home when you sign up for my Stamps in the Mail Club (learn more about the Club).

The card is actually a triple-fold, with a Top Note shape cut at one end.  Did you see my project (check it out) with this fold from earlier this month?  To cut the Top Note at one end of the card stock, just place your Big Shot Cutting Plates so that the only part of the die covered is the part you want to cut.

Let me know if you have questions about the Stamps in the Mail Club — sign-ups are going on now for the Round beginning in November! (sign up or learn more)
