Sweet Treat Heart Cups – Clearance Rack Bonus!
Have you seen the 15 NEW items on my online Stampin’ Up! Clearance Rack? They were added yesterday — so shop now for best selection, since items are available “while supplies last”.
One of my fav items? The Heart Sweet Treat Cups! And on the Clearance Rack, they’re only $0.59 for a box of 12. Use them to make treats for a classroom or for friends & neighbors. Everyone loves a treat!
Here’s a fun way to use your Heart Sweet Treat Cups (Clearance Rack item, only $0.59 for 12 – see them online) and the matching Full Heart Punch (see it online). Did you know the Sweet Treat Cups have the adhesive on them already? Yeah, I know!! They could hardly be easier!!
These use the Scallop Squares Duo Die (120903) for the background, as well as the Sweetheart stamp set (it’s on the Clearance Rack! see it online – 120780). The tiny hearts are punched from the Red Glimmer Paper (see it online) which looks even BETTER in person. Absolutely gorgeous, and a little goes a long way.
The sticks are lollipop sticks from any big box store — just add a little flag banner with a heart, adhere them to the back and you’re set!
One last tip on the Sweet Treat Cups? Don’t overfill them. My strategy is to fill them until they look even, then remove one more M&M. (and it eat — you wouldn’t put it back in the bag, right?) But this way you’re sure there won’t be too much stress on the adhesive on the back of the Sweet Treat Cup.
Need more Sweet Treat Cup ideas? Check a few out on my blog. Remember, these are currently on the Clearance Rack, so they’re available only while supplies last!
Happy Stamping!

Heads up — get ready for Valentine’s Day! The Gift Givers stamp set (see it online) goes out with the Holiday Mini Catalog, at midnight on January 3rd (MT). So if you’d like to add it to your stamp shelf, don’t wait. I promise that you’ll keep this one handy all year long, since it has an image for every holiday, as well as a punch to match!
Plus cocoa is perfect all winter long — and especially as a gift with 2 packets for Valentine treats! This was one of my Stamp Club projects from December. We meet again on January 11th (check my calendar)
Here’s what you need to know about this project:
- The 6 Panel Box is created from the Mini Milk Carton Die for the Big Shot. Here’s a brief set of instructions for putting it together. I just wrapped a piece of Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Paper around the top instead of folding the tops down. (yes, it’s glittery on one side!)
- The nested hearts around the Sweetheart Treat Cup (see them online) are created with the Large Heart Punch (hole for the cup) and the NEW Framelits Dies Hearts Collection (coming January 4th in the Occasions Mini Catalog).
Here are all the SPECIALS and Limited Time Availability on the items in this project, if you’d like to get any of them on sale (up to 80% off!) or before they’re gone:
On the Clearance Rack (due to the change in body style on the punches):
- Large Heart Punch — matches the owl/heart image (see it online)
- Scallop Circle Punch — matches Gift Givers (see it online)
- Curly Label Punch — matches Gift Givers (see it online)
- 1-3/4″ Circle Punch — matches Gift Givers (see it online)

Convention 2011: So many ideas, need to get stamping!
By the third day of the Stampin’ Up! Convention, it sounds like everyone is starting to get itchy fingers that need to pick up a stamp and start creating based on all the fabulous ideas we’ve seen! Every time we look up at a screen or sit down in a class, there’s another project that we “need” to make for ourselves.
The new It’s A Wrap Occasions stamp set (see it online) made the top of my new Wish List… good thing it was waiting for me already at home, having just been ordered the week before Convention!
We also saw this super-clever Thanksgiving Turkey by Stampin’ Up!’s own Carrie Cudney. The body is created from the Heart Sweet Treat Cups (see them online) and the rest of the turkey feathers and features were done with the Build a Blossom stamp set (see it online) and the Blossom Petals Punch (see it online).
And here’s another of her clever ideas using Sweet Treat Cups for a Christmas favor.
As part of the Main Stage session, there were several more groups honored with a chance to walk across the stage. The awards on Day 3 were the Milestone Awards — the ones that you earn no matter how long it takes you (for sales milestones) or how active you are as a demonstrator (for years milestones). Here’s a picture of 8 of our Green Hat Girls marching across the stage for their 5 Year Milestone. I don’t have a picture, but I also marched for crossing my $300,000 in Career Sales milestone this year!
After that, SANTA visited us demonstrators, and brought with him a new stamp set from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog, plus a disk of My Digital Studio downloads — yay for Santa!
And the stamp set Santa brought is the new Hostess Set from the Holiday Mini Catalog… you’re going to love it! I can’t show it to you yet, but check back on September 1st for the unveiling. Or if you want the true Sneak Peek, you can always take advantage of the $99 Demonstrator Starter Kit and join my Stampin’ Up! family. As a demonstrator, you can even SHOP from the Holiday Mini Catalog on August 1st–hardly any waiting at all!
After Santa we all said goodbye–to head back to our hotel for our Annual Post-Convention Pizza and chance to see all the swap cards everyone had received. Have you ever seen a pizza this big? I swear they were 3 feet across! Okay, maybe not quite 3 feet, but not too much smaller!
So many swaps… I’d guess there were close to 10,000 card fronts to look through. We were all joking about how many cards a demonstrator can look at in one evening before her eyes begin to glaze over. But the pizza was great, the swaps were gorgeous and the friendships and time spent together are the best.
Here’s our whole group (minus a couple of ladies who had to leave early) of Green Hat Girls at Convention this year! (that’s me in the checkered dress at the bottom right)
If you’ve enjoyed reading about the Stampin’ Up! Convention this week, you’ll want to start picturing yourself enjoying it with us NEXT year! The dates are July 18-21, 2012, and the chance to attend Convention is only one fabulous perk of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I’d love to have you join our Stampin’ family!
Don’t forget about the special $99 Starter Kit available only til the end of July (valued at $185+), plus you’ll receive the Christmas Keepsake Box Kit: stamps, ink, embellishments and directions–ready to stamp! ($40+ value). You can drop me a note with any questions, or if you’re ready to sign up, you can use this link and click “join now” on the right side of the screen. You can even watch a little video clip about Stampin’ Up!.
Thanks for touring the Stampin’ Up! Convention with me this year!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin 101: Video Tip of the Week, Corner Punches
Last week on my Blog I shared a card using the new Pinking Heart Corner and Border Punches along with the limited-time Heart Treat Cups (120435).
This week I want to give you more detail on how these new Corner Punches work with the Border Punches to create a seamless edge for your stamping and scrapbooking projects. The same technique applies to the new Scallop Trim Corner and Border Punches.
So here is my first Stamping 101: Video Tip of the Week!

Dessert With Breakfast: Perfect Way to Start the Day
Ah, the breakfast of champions… plus dessert. Yesterday began with a breakfast reception for all the current and past Stampin’ Up! Advisory Board members, and that breakfast ended with fabulous caramel-drizzled blintzes. (Don’t tell my kids that I had dessert with breakfast–that’s a no-no at our house!)
Really though, it was a great chance to catch up with friends that I only see a couple times a year–at Stampin’ Up! events! (yup, one more fun reason to become a Demonstrator
Here I am, visiting with my friend Lynsay Mahon and Amy Swartz, the marketing director at Stampin’ Up!.
The morning started out with 1000 Stampin’ Up! demonstrators gathered in a big hall. Shelli Gardner (co-founder of Stampin’ Up!) shared part of the story of how Stampin’ Up! was started, and she encouraged us all to share our own story. Guess I’ll need to blog about that soon
The morning also included fabulous demonstrations of new products from the Occasions Mini Catalog (yay for all the new goodies–check out some of my recent Occasions Mini project posts!) Here are two projects that Pam Morgan shared with the Eggcellent Eggs Kit (117179). If you like these, don’t wait too long–they’re only available while supplies last.
The kit is definitely not just for decorating eggs — these are napkin rings for any occasion, although they’d be perfect for a baby shower! The baby shower invites below also use the egg kit–the little tiny flowers, and of course the sticky-back rhinestones for a little ‘bling’ on the girl invite.

The morning also included Prize Patrol, which is where we have a chance to get FREE stamps (or other goodies) that have been demonstrated during the session–and Mary Ellen Stites and Laurie Stiegelmeier won from our group–hooray!!

The Sweet Treat Cups were also shown– with HEART cups!! These little guys are so cute, plus they have a new matching stamp set and you can use the big Full Heart Punch to make the hole for your heart-shaped cup. You can learn more about the limited-time offer with the flyer. And the little confetti is the punchie pieces from the new Pinking Hearts Border Punch.

Lunch was a sit-down affair with yummy chocolate dessert and a HUGE grilled chicken salad. Yum! The food at Leadership is always fabulous

And speaking of food, we had dinner as part of the Manager’s Reception that evening. We were taken to a ranch on the edge of Phoenix for a Mexican Rodeo, dinner, and wonderful entertainment from a dance troupe that shared heritage dances from around Mexico. Here’s us sitting in the bleachers, shaking our maracas!
And this is the gorgeous table setting– complete with gerbera daisies (my favorites were the Melon Mambo ones
We also each received the new Love Bandit stamp set (so cute!) and a brightly colored re-bo-zo, a traditional Mexican shawl.
And for dessert (are you seeing a theme for today?) we had empanadas stuffed with pumpkin, lemon or apple filling, plus cinnamon whipped cream. I had to include a picture because we decided that they must have cut the dough using a Big Shot and a Scallop Circle Die

Okay, on to day 2 of Leadership! More later!!

The Gift of Warm Steamy Cocoa
Provide your own cup and hot milk, of course! This cute project was one of our Stamp Club projects this month. It’s a terrific twist on a project that’s been around for years and years. The top hat actually pulls off and the snowman is an envelope that holds a cocoa packet.

My friend and LovenStampfuls demonstrator, Mary Ellen Stites, shared this at a recent LovenStampfuls Shoebox Swap. Here’s how to make your own:
Begin by sealing a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Cut off about 1 ½” from the side, then crimp the remainder with the crimps running perpendicular to the cut.- Fold a Big Shot Top Note so that it creates a brim for the “hat”, attach to non-crimped envelope piece of the envelope.
- For the marshmallows, cut two of the large scallop circles from Scallop Circle #2 die, and use a 1 ¾” Circle Punch to punch a hole for the Sweet Treat Cup. Attach to hat with Gold Cord.
- Decorate with punched circles, sponged rosy cheeks and a cardstock triangle nose.

Technique Tutorial: Step by Step Sweet Treat Cup Cards
Last week I posted a fun project that we made this month at Stamp Club with Meg. The Sweet Treat Slider Card was such a hit that I figured a Video Tutorial might be in order!
If you’d like the step-by-step written instructions, you can find them on last week’s post. Otherwise here’s the Video Tutorial for you to enjoy!

Have Your Card and Eat It, Too
It’s a Halloween Extravaganza this week on my blog! Yesterday a cute Halloween Bear… today a Sweet Treat Halloween gift, tomorrow… well, you’ll just have to wait for tomorrow, but I promise more Halloween ideas!
This project is actually one that we’re making at Stamp Club with Meg this week, as well as next Monday, September 14th. So if you live in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, come on over!
The card uses the Sweet Centers stamp set (new in the Holiday Mini Catalog) and the Sweet Treat Cups (also new in the Holiday Mini Catalog). If you haven’t seen the Holiday Mini yet, you’ll want to click and download right now–it’s fabulous!
But when you put candy inside this card, you don’t want the person who receives it to have to destroy your card to get the yummy treat, right? Here’s an elegant solution with a sliding panel. So now you can “have your card and eat it, too”
- Stamp with the Sweet Centers stamp set and punch the center hole with the 1-3/8” Circle Punch.
- Layer your card: (top) Sweet Centers image layer, card layers, inner panel. Adhere all layers except Sweet Centers layer, being sure to exclude adhesive from between the card and the inner panel so that the slider will fit. Trace a circle through the 1-3/8” hole.
- Use the Circle Scissors Plus to cut through all layers at once, allowing blade to cut each layer at a time.
- Adhere Sweet Treat Cup around hole, add Sweet Centers stamped layer.
- Use the 3/4″ Circle Punch to add the half-circle hole on the card side.
- Add slider panel with Olive Grosgrain Ribbon between card and inner panel.
- Give card, pull slider panel, eat candy, enjoy card!
