Make Your Own Charm Bracelets: Stamping Style!

Looking for a fun summer project?  This one is great for kids and grown-ups alike!  Try using your stamps to make your own Charm Bracelet!  Here are some samples of bracelets that the kids made at Summer Scrap Camp here last month with shrink art plastic.

The charms are made with shrink plastic (check your local craft store – ie Shrinky Dinks) and are stamped with a variety of images.  Here are two of our favorites from Stampin’ Up!:

  • Easy Events (see it online – clear mount 123225 or wood 116958)
  • Make A Monster (see it online – clear 120606 or wood 118742)

Here are the directions for making your charms:

  1. Cut plastic to size (ours were 2 x 2 1/2″)
  2. Stamp with Jet Black Staz-On Ink (see it online – 101406)
  3. Color with permanent markers (colors darken a LOT when shrunk)
  4. Round corners with a Corner Rounder Punch (see it online – 119871)
  5. Shrink according to directions in the oven, or use your Heat Tool for a more instant gratification (see it online – 129053)
  6. Add to your favorite charm bracelet!

Have fun this summer and make a few charms to show off your stamping style!  Or looking for more kid projects?  Here are some other suggestions on my blog!

Is It Clearly For You?

Did you know that Demonstrators like to do Make N Take projects, too?  We do!  Want more information about being a demonstrator? Be sure to check my website for the current special!

Here is one of the projects we stamped at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in Nashville back in January (see more about Leadership).

The stamp set used is “Clearly For You” (see it online) from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The images in this set are sweet and easy to use for a variety of projects.

The set is perfectly sized for using with the Beveled Windowpanes (see them online) and the largest of the Simply Adorned Charms (see it online), but don’t let that limit you!

Happy Stamping!

Simply Adorned Ornament Boutique

I’ve been having a great time playing with the largest of the Simply Adorned Charm sizes–the 1-1/2 x 2″ charm.  Here are a variety of seasonal charm inserts:

Thanks to my friend Jan Wakeland for inspiring the Halloween insert.  She had a great collection of these at the Founder’s Circle Retreat in September!

You can make these for pretty much any occasion–this is the one Jan made to match her yellow outfit.  Isn’t it cute?

Check out how great this charm size looks with her great outfit and the other chains she was wearing that day.

If you’re an Illini fan, you’ll like the colors on the orange & blue charm above.

These sweet inserts (or the smaller ones that go with the 20% discounted Simply Adorned Bundle) can match any occasion or theme.

If you’re in the Central Illinois area on Friday, October 22nd, you’ll want to join me for my “Here Come the Holidays” party!  The event is free to attend, and if you’d like you can also sign up for the Simply Adorned Ornament Boutique.  At the Boutique (during the main Open House event) you’ll make all 4 inserts for this charm size.  Cost is $10 for the Simply Adorned Boutique, and can be applied towards your purchase of a charm that evening. (check the details and RSVP online)
