Raining Flowers: Stampin Up Convention Make N take card project

Retiring List Rewind: Make A Monster

Make A Monster Birthday Card Idea - watercoloring techniques

Got a little “monster” in your life?  Then you NEED this Make A Monster stamp set before it retires! (see it online) I didn’t realize that I’d never shared this card on my blog, but it’s gotten rave reviews from not only kids, but also teen girls and twenty-somethings.  Go figure!

First you stamp the monster, then add eyes, a mouth and any number of goofy appendages.  Then color with crayons, pencils, watercolor, or whatever you like.

I’ve used this stamp set for so many fun projects — check them on my blog. I think my favorite was shrinky dink charm bracelets!

Stamps in the Mail Club: Questions? I’ve got answers!

Stamps in the Mail Club: New Round open for enrollment now - join the fun!

Have you been thinking about joining my Stamps in the Mail Club? Good for you! You should know that I’ve been offering this club for over 7 years, and about 98% of my participants continue for 6 months or more!

There are several frequent questions about the club, so I thought I’d drop a few updates:

1. Q: Do you get all the supplies to make the projects?

A: Yes, you get ALL the supplies.  With SITM, everything will be pre-punched as needed, pre-die cut and pre-dry embossed.  That way you only need the supplies in the kit and the SITM order to make the projects.  The only exception is that this month you’ll need a dark brown ink pad that’s not included (Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip or Soft Suede are all good).  You could even use black if you don’t have a brown.

2. Q: What if I already own the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch?

A. No problem! Every month I send a list of the items included in the $45 SITM fee, and you can swap out ANY product that you might already own.  It’s quick and easy, and if want something more expensive, you just pay the difference on your item.

3. Q: What do you mean that the Round lasts for 3 months? What if I want to cancel?

A.  SITM kits are grouped together in 3 month periods. The new SITM “round” is May/June/July.  So each month you’ll get a new kit that builds on the previous month and will add a combination of new stamps/inks/accessories.  I’ll send an email with a PayPal link each month and you’ll have a chance to change/add supplies before I place your orders.  You can cancel any time you need to — just let me know and you won’t get that next month’s kit.

I hope those questions help you understand a bit more about your Stamps in the Mail Club opportunities!

I’ve also gotten a few notes from very happy SITM Club Members recently, and wanted to share a couple with you:

Thanks for sharing your ideas.  I am making much better use of the stamp sets I have thanks to your club – and one of my goals has been to use each set for multiple projects.  — Cathy L.

I loved my last SITM kit.  I made everything and they all turned out beautiful. Thanks for putting so much time into making every kit!!!!
I am so excited about the next 3 months of SITM!!! Learning a new technique sounds AWESOME!!!! — Vicki

I just saw the new SITM projects. They look great!! I love getting your projects to do, you come with the best ideas.

Dress Up Framelits gift boxIf you haven’t already signed up for this new SITM round, be sure to visit my Stamps in the Mail Club page and click the giant “email Meg” button to request your invoice.

I’m away from my desk until May 9th, but I’ll get your invoice sent as soon as I return, and you’ll be stamping before you know it!

Happy Stamping!

It’s time for my Retiring Set Rewind!  There are so many fabulous stamp sets about to retire, and I don’t want any stampers to miss out on getting them before they’re gone.  Top of the list for today? It’s Button Buddies (see it online), as the cutest stamp set with the most possibilities for quick & easy cards.

These sweet cards were created with a Note Card & Envelope base (also retiring!! see them online)

To make these clean & simple cards, you’ll need:

Actually, if you’re thinking about joining my Stampin’ Up! family, this is a great set of supplies to include in your Starter Kit!

Here are the project directions for the Marker to Stamp Technique on these cards:

  1. Take your markers and color directly on the stamps — as many colors as you like.
  2. When you’re ready to stamp, gently breathe over the stamp and your breath with reactivate any ink that may have begun to dry.
  3. Stamp on your note card and use the Mini Glue Dots to add buttons with Baker’s Twine.

Super simple!! If you are looking for a fun project to try with friends at home over the weekend, Spring Break or Summer vacation, here is a great way to get started!

You can order from my website using the links above. I can’t wait to see the cards you create!

Card Ideas for Guys – Magic with Circle Circus

Masculine Card Ideas - just change your color scheme with Circle Circus

One of the questions I hear all the time is “Do you have any ideas for cards for men?”  Good question!  And the answer is yes!  Lots of times we have the perfect stamp sets for guy cards already in our stamp collection – we just don’t see them in “guy colors”.  So that’s the magic key — start thinking in GUY COLORS!

Here’s another sample of Circle Circus (see the set online – 127784) from my blog a few years ago — I used it to make a scrapbook page to celebrate our Advisory Board picture from the Stampin’ Up! Convention back in 2009.  (Where has the time gone??)

For the scrapbook page, I used Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry (back soon as a “new” color!) and accented with Basic Black.  The whole page comes across as fairly “girlie”.

But with the guy card above, my color combination came from the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper (see it online – 126898):

  • Cajun Craze
  • Midnight Muse
  • Pool Party
  • Soft Suede
  • Summer Starfruit

And the whole feel of the stamp set magically becomes much more masculine.

I gathered with a group of women from my church yesterday to make a big set of these cards to use for Card Ministry.  Lots of fun and fellowship, and watch for more posts of the cards we created in the coming weeks!

So two thoughts to leave with you today -

Want to come to Convention? You can!! We have a HUGE family of LovenStampfuls demonstrators attending, and I’d love to have you join us.  You can learn more about becoming a demonstrator on my website (plus a bonus $30 to spend on your Starter Kit right now!).

Take a second look at your stamp collection. I bet there are some sets in there that would make terrific guy cards if you change your color selections!

Puzzle Piece Resist Technique – free printable tutorial

Swallowtail Puzzle Piece Resist - free printable technique tutorial

What’s more fun than a cool technique?  A free printable technique tutorial!  This Puzzle Piece Resist technique was shared with us by demonstrator Linda Yearsley at our Spring Into Stamping demo training event last weekend, and I loved it so much that I created this card with the Swallowtail stamp for my Stamp Club last week. (see Swallowtail online – 129216)

The steps are simple for Puzzle Piece Resist:

  1. Heat emboss image in white on white
  2. Use framelits to cut layers (all at once)
  3. Sponge layers in contrasting colors
  4. Assemble the puzzle

And the results are striking!  Be sure to download my free printable tutorial for the Puzzle Piece Resist technique.

Supplies: Stamp – Swallowtail, Papillon Potpourri, Amazing Family; Ink: Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Versamark; Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Calypso Coral; Accessories: Heat Tool, White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Rhinestone Jewels, Big Shot, Floral Frames Framelits;
